Mayor Petey Ellis and the council expressed appreciation to the community for making the city’s eighth annual Frog Festival a success.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone — vendors, participants, spectators, city workers, people who worked on the Frog Festival,” Ellis said. “It was a really, really big success. I know it was probably bigger than last year because of the rain, but I think it was the biggest and best one we’ve ever had.”
Ellis also said there had already been people inquiring about reserving booth space for next year’s festival.
Fire Chief David Waid asked to surplus some old monitors that the fire department no longer uses in order to sell the monitors. The council asked for a list of the items’ serial numbers in order to create a resolution for the surplus.
The next regular council meeting will be Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. The council will also hold a worksession following the next council meeting to discuss the city’s proposed fire station and to discuss pay rates for city employees.
