Sylvia Yvette Garrett, 59, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Birmingham. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 9, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. Earl Barnett and the Rev. J.B. Thompson will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her father, Auburn Bence Sr.; mother, Aulsie S. Bence; brother, Auburn Bence Jr.; nephew, Nic Barnett; and niece, Jennifer Barnett.

She is survived by her daughter, Clarissa Barnett of Crane Hill; nephews, Dalton McCay, Matthew Barnett, Ryan Barnett and Lee Bence; sister, Annette McCay of Rockwall, Texas; God-granddaughter, Marley Taylor; God-niece, Zoey Borden; and nieces, Calyn McCay, Audrey Bence and Tiffany Meredith.

Pallbearers will be Britt Barnett, Jason Taylor, Dalton McCay, Eric Barnett and Chris Hand.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zac Bordon and Dustin Skidmore.
