Tommy Daniel Garrigan went to be with the Lord April 6, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Garrigan and his sister, Jaye Ellen Garrigan. He is survived by his mother, Nora Garrigan; his loving wife of 45 years, Brinda Garrigan; and his son, T.J. Garrigan and wife Amy. He is also survived by several other family members; sister-in-law, Stella (Jimmy) Keeton; brothers-in-law, Sam (Shelia) Cain and Harold (Dianne) Cain; and seven nephews and nieces, Kerry (Connie) Keeton, Connie (Jeff) Todd, Steve (Cheryl) Brakefield, Jim (Staci) Brakefield, Stacey Cain, David (Megann) Cain, and Chris (April) Henson. He is also survived by 13 great- nephews and nieces; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special family friend, Pam Miles, who all loved him dearly.
Tommy was born October 25, 1946 and grew up in Cordova and Jasper, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Science Education and received a Master’s degree from Troy University in Biology. He worked at Lanier High School for over 25 years as a teacher and retired in 1996. He enjoyed family genealogy, sports and taking photos.
Services were held at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Ala., on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church; the Living Today Sunday School Class at Frazer; or the Cross off of I-22 at Hunters Chapel in Walker County.
