Tommy Eugene Tucker, 85, of Eldridge, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the UAB Medical Center.

Tucker was born on Sept. 26, 1928 in Fayette County, a son of Marvin and Minnie Tucker. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County in the Tidwell Chapel community, and he was retired from Reltoc Manufacturing in Winfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eulene and Kat; and three brothers, Simon, Freeman and Bud Tucker.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Rowland and her husband, Allen, of Jasper, and Lara Smothers and her husband, Fred, of Eldridge; three grandchildren, Ashley Smothers, Alex Smothers and Mary Beth Barber; three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Alex and Lily’Margaret Barber; three sisters, Oneeda Kirkley of Hubbertville, Liveta McCaleb of Childersburg and Bonnie Davis of Eldridge; a special friend, Iciele Evans; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. at McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home in Winfield. Burial will follow in Tidwell Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery with Larry Alexander officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from noon until service time.
