He was born June 13, 1931, to Tom and Margaret Hutto Argent. After graduating from Parrish High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Korea from 1951-1959. After leaving the Air Force, he served 23 years as a civilian employer for the Department of the Air Force at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Mich. until he retired and moved back to Alabama. He belonged to a Masonic Lodge in Michigan.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Delmus Anthony will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.
Argent was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Hutto Argent; father, Tom Argent; wife, Thelma Jean Argent; brother, Hyrom Hutto Argent; sister,Peggy Ann Argent; special companion, Dorothy Bridges.
He is survived by his nieces, Sandra Deason, Margaret (Wilburn) Williams, Peggy (Dave) Forrester, and Sherry (Ronald) Mullen; special step-daughters, Pamela Seals, Connie DeKort and Sherry Milan; brother, John Clay Argent (Barbara); sister-in-law, Gladys; lots of great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
