He spent his working days in a truck, mostly hauling logs, and the only time he was happier was watching Alabama football. He was usually sitting in his chair and watching westerns or enjoying music. He loved to sit down and eat with, and cut up with, his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Sprinkle; and five brothers, Roy, Jimmy, Charles, Travis and Robert Colburn.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Colburn; two sons, Scotty Tucker and his wife, Vicky, of Beaverton and Wayne Tucker and his wife, Kathy, of Winfield; two daughters, Melinda Colburn and Billy Sellers of Nauvoo, and Christy Colburn of Eldridge; three brothers, Richard Colburn of Eldridge, Kenny Colburn of Jasper and Johnny Colburn of Eldridge; seven grandchildren, Melissa Paul, Mandy Miles, Tami Tucker, Renee Pendley, Jason Taylor, Ashley Sellers and Dustin Sellers; nine great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be today, Oct. 17, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home in Winfield and Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Eldridge First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Eldridge First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Kelley Cemetery with the Rev. John Mooney officiating.
