U. David “Curly” Shadinger, 82, of Curry, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He was born on Jan. 29, 1939. He was a veteran of the Korean War, with a heart of gold. He was also a member of Farmstead Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends today, April 4, 2013, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. The Rev. Ed Goforth will officiate, Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

Shadinger was preceded in death by his parents, Fitzhugh and Polly Spain Shadinger; brother, Huel Shadinger; sister-in-law, Genell Shadinger; half-sister, Ruth Pope; brother-in-law, Orville Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Addison Shadinger.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Shadinger; sons, Philip Shadinger (Kathy) and Timmy Shadinger (Gwen); grandsons, Matthew Shadinger (Brittney), Mason Shadinger (Leann), Landon Shadinger (Baileigh) and Austin Shadinger; great-grandchildren, Harper Shadinger, Carter Shadinger and Madison Shadinger; sister-in-law, Annis Wilson; and a host of extended family and friends.
