A generation has passed into history in our family.

On Sept. 8, 1923, Ruth and Dewey Banks had a little girl. They named her, Virginia Lois Banks. She was the first of four children. She grew up in Parrish, Alabama, graduating from Parrish High School. When she was 20, she met the love of her life, Brack Wells (deceased). She eloped to Joplin, Mo., to marry him, before he went to the Pacific front during WWII. She worked in Pensacola, Fla. shipyards, during the War, with her sisters, Jeanne Cain (deceased), Joyce Bouler (deceased). She also had a brother, Thomas Banks (deceased), who was in the Navy. She was an accountant at Allied Steel in Cordova, Alabama for 20 years.

Virginia and Brack had five children, Richard Brack Wells (Sharon), Victoria Wells Snavely (Robert), Eva Wells Wagner, Bunny Wells Hayden (Ray), Terena Wells Rice (deceased) (Eddy). She has 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joseph Snavely, Jason Wells, Patrick Hayden, Dane Wagner Jr., Kris McGregor and Ronny Hutchens.

Services will be held at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012. Visitation from noon until 1 p.m. Services at 1 p.m. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Ricky Sherer will officiate.
