He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith; two brothers, Billy Smith and Charlie Smith; and sister, Rebecca Jordan.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Smith; son, Billy Gene Smith; four sisters, Frances Liggett of Henderson, Ky., Janie Craven of Nauvoo, Loretta Miller of Hamilton and Wonda White of Jackson, S.C.; brother, Oscar Smith of Jackson, S.C.; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
