Sherri Sides and Nelson Vance were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham. Minister Billy E. Phillips performed the double-ring ceremony which was attended by close family and friends. The ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour and dinner reception.

The bride is the daughter of Johnny  and Winona Sides of Oakman. She is the granddaughter of John Sides and the late Ruby Sides and the late Cecil and Marcelle Earnest all of Oakman.

The groom is the son of Ricky and Becky Vance of Cordova. He is the grandson of Beatrice Vance and the late W.T. Vance and also the late Lloyd and Vera Lee Kendrick all of Cordova.

Miss Samantha Schulz of Jasper served as the maid of honor. Matrons of honor were Mrs. Amber Wright of Jasper and Mrs. Hillary Nowland of Auburn.

Mr. David Vance of Jasper served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Cory Williams of Cordova and Mr. Steven Smith of Los Angeles, Calif.

Logan Kendrick and Caleb Kendrick, both of Florence, served as ushers. Brian Brown from Auburn escorted the bride’s mother. Ricky Jill Russell of Cordova escorted the bride’s grandfather. Conner Williams and Jazlin Mullinax were the ring bearer and flower girl.

After a two-week honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple reside at their home in Jasper.
