Bowen-Schlueter

Lindsay Michelle Bowen of Jasper and Anchorage, Alaska, and Ryan Christopher Schlueter of Anchorage, Alaska, were united in marriage on Friday, July 20, 1012. The wedding and reception were both held at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska.

The bride is the daughter of Christopher Scott and Lisa Bowen of Jasper and Moscow, Russia. Her grandparents are Charles and Betty Odom, and the late Diane Odom of Jasper, Ramona Evans and the late James Evans of Jasper, and the late Jack Bowen of Los Angeles, Calif. Her great-grandparents are Jewel and the late J.C. Johnson of Parrish.

The groom is the son of Chris and Laurie Schlueter of Anchorage, Alaska, and Angola, Africa. His grandparents are the Rev. Roland and Francis Schueleter of Seattle, Wash., and Richard and Barbara Henningsen of Anchorage, Alaska.

The ceremony was a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. George Blair. The bride was given in marriage by her father, C. Scott Bowen.

The brides attendants were: matron of honor, Brook Meadows, aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids were cousins of the bride, Brigitte Brewer of Jasper and Brittany Odom of Detroit, Mich., Heather Schlueter of Anchorage, sister of the groom, and friends, Kristen Poland of Richmond, Va. and Nicole Wier of Anchorage.

Bestman and groomsman were: best man was Matt Anderson, friend of the groom from Anchorage, Alaska. Groomsmen were, C.Ryan Bowen, brother of the bride from Tuscaloosa, Brendan Skirrow, Jay Skirrow and Tom Skirrow, all friends of th egroom from Toronto, Canada.

The reception was held on the Kalitna Court Ballroom of the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska.

The rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schlueter, parents of the groom.

A wedding trip was taken to Kona, Hawaii. The couple returned back one week later to Anchorage, Alaska.

Engagements

Hayes - Millican

Mickey and Deliah Millican of Thach are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brandy Michelle Millican, to Steton Reed Hayes, the son of Tyler Hayes and Sherry Morgan of Addison.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Lucille Speer and the late Wilson Speer of Houston, and the late M.T. and Flora Millican of Thach.

Miss Millican has a master’s degree in elementary education. She is currently employed at Sipsey Jr. High in Sipsey.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Odell and Helen Netherton of Addison and Odie Hayes and the late Mauvaline Hayes of Addison.

Mr. Hayes is currently the pastor of Nesmith Church in Nesmith.

The wedding will be held on March 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Nesmith Church in Nesmith. No formal invitations will be sent.
