Bradford was known for his strength and resilience during his illness and surgeries. He had a quick wit and dry sense of humor. He truly cherished Judy, Emily and Hillary.
He was born in Florence, Ala., attended Coffee High School and the University of North Alabama. He was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta and Synovus Financial. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 5, 2013, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. Barry Tice will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther L. Bradford; paternal grandparents, Grover C. and Ila Caroline Bradford; maternal grandparents, Laura Pearl and Charles Edward Hamilton; and father-in-law, Joseph F. Sherer.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Sherer Bradford; daughters, Emily Lauren Bradford and Hillary Faith Bradford; mother, Lola Bradford; brother, Luther L. Bradford II; sisters, Carol Kaye Bradford and Laura Leigh Chandler; mother-in-law, Hazel Sherer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lee Sherer, Chase Sherer, Bradley Simmons, Blake Simmons, Eric Newman, Bill Morris, Blake Morris and Jim Byars.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Edge, Danny McAfee, John Craig, David Craig, Tommy Appleton, Craig Byars, Brad Conner and Joe Cameron.
