Three people suffered gunshot wounds in a late-night shooting at a mobile home just off Old Birmingham Highway.

Walker County Sheriff Jim Underwood said the shooting happened around 11 p.m. Sunday at a mobile home at 47 Pine Grove Road.

Underwood said the shooting happened when two black males kicked in the door of the home and fired multiple shots at the residents inside.

Three people were hit by gunfire, Underwood said.

One of the victims had what Underwood described as life-threatening injuries.

The two other victims were not as seriously wounded, he said.

Underwood didn’t identify the victims, who were all transported to area hospitals.

The two suspects were only described as two black males.

“I don’t know at this time what the motive was,” Underwood said, “and we don’t know if all these people knew each other. Apparently there was some problem between them.”

Underwood said his department is actively investigating the shooting.

“And we hope to have it resolved some time in the near future,” he said.
