Body of missing Jasper woman found in Parrish

A body found in Parrish Tuesday night has been identified as a missing Jasper woman.

Amy Laura Lee Hunter, 30, was reported missing on Saturday, Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

Body of missing Jasper woman found in Parrish

A body found in Parrish Tuesday night has been identified as a missing Jasper woman.

Amy Laura Lee Hunter, 30, was reported missing on Saturday, Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

She had not been seen since Friday.

Hunter’s body was found when a railroad conductor saw her remains from the train, Poe said.

A cause of death has not been released. The body has been sent to the state forensics lab for an autopsy.

The Jasper Police Department, Walker County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office are investigating Hunter’s death.

Anyone with information about Hunter’s disappearance is encouraged to contact Jasper police at 221-6790 or the Sheriff’s Department at 302-6464.

Man reported missing

Jasper police detectives are investigating the disappearance of a 44-year-old man.

Detectives announced on the department’s Facebook page Wednesday afternoon that Rodney Earl Flemming was last seen on Jan. 31 in the vicinity of the 1900 block of 11th Avenue South in Jasper.

Flemming is approximately 5 feet 8.5 inches and weighs 160 pounds.

If anyone comes in contact with Flemming or if anyone knows someone with information concerning his location, they are asked to contact the Jasper Police Department’s Investigation Division at 205-221-2121.

In a related development, Christopher Leon West, 47, who was reported to be missing after last being seen Jan. 11 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, has been found safe and is now with his family, the department reported Wednesday.
