Posted

Former Curry High School and Mississippi State volleyball player Kellye (Jordan) Bowen will hold a skills camp on Monday and Tuesday at Carbon Hill High School.

The camp, which is for players from the sixth to eighth grades (2017-18 school year) will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The fee is $65 and includes a T-shirt. The camp will focus on volleyball fundamental techniques and individual skill development — serving, setting, passing, attacking and defense.

For more information, contact Kellye Bowen at 205-522-4734 or Carbon Hill volleyball coach Saige Beaty at 205-531-3842.

Bowen, a 2008 Curry High School graduate, was a three-sport star in high school. She is still ranked second in the state with 2,697 kills.

She started her coaching career at St. James High School in Montgomery in 2012, compiling a 60-30 record in two seasons. In 2016, she was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as one of the up and coming coaches under the age of 30. Jordan is entering her fourth season at Spain Park.
