Upcoming church happenings, gospel singings and cemetery cleanings/meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed free of charge. They are listed by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. Maranatha Baptist Church at 1701 Barker St. in Jasper will have its Soup Kitchen open each Wednesday and Friday beginning at 11 a.m. each day. The church will offer a free full-meal to those in need.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church on U.S. Highway 78 in Dora will host a New Mother’s Support Group for new and expecting mothers each Wednesday from 5:307:30 p.m. at the church. Living Light Church of God at 3420 N. Airport Rd. in Jasper will have Bro. Ali from Trinidad as the special guest speaker at its monthly “Night of Passion” meeting being held today at 6 p.m. at the church.

Sumiton Church of God and Pastors Victor and Jamie Massey will host the “Ignite” Conference at Sumiton Church of God on Friday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 3, and Sunday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day. Guest speaker will be Perry Stone, international evangelist/host of the Christian television program “Manna-Fest.” A Kids “Ignite” Crusade with Gregg Zachary will also be held. The Church at Beech Grove at 347 Beech Grove Rd. in Townley will host a singing the first Saturday of each month at 5 p.m. Special guest singers for Saturday, Feb. 3, will be Curt Cagle and Friends. Winston County Gospel Theater (formerly Looney’s Tavern) on Alabama Highway 278 near Houston will hosts a gospel singing the first Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. Special guest singers for Saturday, Feb. 3, will be the Pine Grove Church of God Praise Team.

Saragossa Baptist Church Men’s Prayer Group meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Herman Baptist Church on Herman Road in Curry will host a singing Sunday, Feb. 4, beginning 11 a.m. with special guest singers, the Barnett Family from Tennessee. Lunch will be served at noon, with more singing in the afternoon.

Carbon Hill United Methodist Church at 178 Northwest 4th Ave. hosts a Celebrate Recovery each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Awakening Life Church on Alabama Highway 257 in Jasper holds a CelebrateLIFE recovery and restoration accountability and support group meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 801 The Trace in Jasper will host a Caregivers Support Group meeting each Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the library at the church. This group is open to the community and is for people who provide care to loved ones dealing with chronic illness.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church on U.S. Highway 78 in Dora will host the “Joy In Jesus” program for those with special needs, and their parents, on the second Saturday of each month, beginning Saturday, Jan. 27, from 46 p.m. at the church. St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 801 The Trace in Jasper will have its annual Valentine’s Luncheon and Tea on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 11:30 a.m.1 p.m. at the church. Tickets are $12. There will be a silent auction and bake sale. Take-out lunches will be available. All proceeds will benefit the St. Mary’s Community Food Bank.

SATURDAY, FEB. 17

Berry Civic Center in Berry hosts a Southern gospel singing the third Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. featuring special guest singers and the Busby Family from Berry. Admission is free. A love offering will be received.
