Church Happenings, Gospel Singings and Cemetery Meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed free of charge. They are ran by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. SUNDAY, DEC. 18

Saragossa Baptist Church Mens Prayer Group meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Corinth Baptist Church on Gardener’s Gin Road in Jasper will present its adult and children’s Christmas program featuring the play “Miracle on Bethlehem Street” on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m.

Westside Baptist Church will present the Children’s Christmas program “Candy Cane Lane” on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Maranatha Baptist Church will have its annual Christmas Dinner on Sunday, Dec. 18, around 12:30 p.m. There will be no night service.

Victory Assembly of God will hold its Breaking Free meetings for those struggling with addictions each Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the church. For more information, call Jaye Trayal at 205-275-9974.

Wright’s Chapel A.M.E. Church at 607 27th Street West in Jasper will present its Christmas Musicale on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 3 p.m., at the church, where Rev. M.P. Jefferson is the host pastor. Abundant Life Fellowship on Alabama 69 North in Jasper will present its Christmas Program on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 5 p.m.

Oakman First Baptist Church Girls in Action meets each Sunday at 5 p.m. at the church.

First Baptist Church of Jasper will hold its Celebrate Recovery program each Sunday at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the church. The community is invited. For more information, please contact the church at 205-221-6444.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 21

New Beginnings Church of Graysville will serve a free lunch on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church at the corner of Josephine Street and Barker Street in West Jasper.

SATURDAY, DEC. 24

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 801 The Trace in Jasper will hold its Christmas Eve Service on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m.

Desperation Church will host its Christmas Eve service on Saturday, Dec. 24, from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the Jasper Civic Center. There will be no services on Christmas Day or on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Maranatha Baptist Church will have its Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 11 p.m. at the church.

SUNDAY, DEC. 25

Maranatha Baptist Church will have its annual Christmas Morning Breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 25, from 9 until 10:30 a.m., followed by its Christmas worship service at 11 a.m. There will be no night service.

MONDAY, DEC. 26

Maranatha Baptist Church will host its 40th Anniversary Celebration on Monday, Dec. 26, with a reception from 5 until 7 p.m. at the church. The congregation will also be celebrating Bro. Jerry Boyd’s 40 years of ministry at the church.

Nauvoo United Methodist Church on 3rd Avenue in Nauvoo will host AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings each Monday and Friday at 6 p.m. at the church.

Saragossa Baptist Church Women’s Prayer Group will meet each Monday at 7 p.m. at the church.

TUESDAY, DEC. 27

Carbon Hill Methodist Church at 178 Northwest 4th Avenue will host Celebrate Recovery every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and Twelve Step Program each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Awakening Life Church on Alabama Highway 257 in Jasper will hold a CelebrateLIFE recovery and restoration accountability and support group meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. THURSDAY, DEC. 29

River of Living Water United Methodist Ministries (Christ United Methodist Church) at 1401 Jones Dairy Road in Jasper will conduct a 12-step Celebrate Recovery program each Thursday at 7 p.m. A meal and fellowship will be provided at 6 p.m. For more information, call 205-221-3486.

SATURDAY, JAN. 7

The Church at Beech Grove at 347 Beech Grove Road in Townley will host a first Saturday Night Singing and Service the first Saturday of each month at 5 p.m., featuring congregational singing, special guest singers and refreshments following the service. Offering will be received to help with the upkeep of the church building. For more information, contact John Cooner at 275-7823.

Winston County Gospel Theater (formerly Looney’s Tavern) on Alabama Highway 278 near Houston, Alabama will host a gospel singing the first Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.

SATURDAY, JAN. 14

Boldo Methodist Church on Alabama Highway 69 North (across from the Dollar General) in Jasper will have a Free Clothes Closet Give-a-way on the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until noon at the church. For people who need of clothes or shoes.

Dutton Hill Baptist Church will have its Food Bank and Clothes Closet open Saturday, Jan. 14, at 8 a.m. at the church.

SATURDAY, JAN. 21

Berry Civic Center in Berry will host a southern gospel singing the third Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.
