Church Happenings, Gospel Singings and Cemetery Meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed free of charge. They are ran by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. TODAY, JAN. 21

Phillips Chapel Church on Empire Road in Empire will have a singing today, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m., with special guest singers, Trusting Grace.

Berry Civic Center in Berry will host a southern gospel singing today, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.

Graysville First United Methodist Church at 69 Second Avenue S.E. in Graysville will have the Bontrager Family Singers of Kalona, Iowa in concert today, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. at the church.

SUNDAY, JAN 22

Southside Church of God in Carbon Hill (across the railroad tracks and three blocks down on the left) will have its Homecoming services Sunday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., with dinner at noon and more singing following. New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God in Dogtown will have a singing with Eagle’s Wings on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served.

New Hope Baptist Church on Fall City Road will have revival services on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 23, through Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. each night. Guest evangelist will be Thomas Curtis.

MONDAY, JAN. 23

Westside Baptist Church Kid’s Ministries in Jasper will host a Swamp John’s Fundraiser Saturday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Pick-up or dine-in. Plates will be $11. Tickets are required in advance. Please indicate if you want chicken, fish, or shrimp. Plates also include fries, hush puppies, dessert and drink. SATURDAY, JAN. 28

Desperation Church in Jasper will host a one-day financial conference "Act Your Wage" on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Jasper Civic Center. Tickets are $15 and includes breakfast and snacks. Register online at www.desperationchurch.tv/financialoneday.

Crossroads United Methodist Church on Alabama Highway 5 North in Jasper will have a singing Sunday, Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m., with featured guest singer, Pam Gardner.

Union Chapel Baptist Church invites you to its 5th Sunday Singing Sunday, Jan. 29, with regular service at 10:45 a.m., lunch at noon and singing at 1 p.m. Guest singers will be New Beginning.

River of Living Water United Methodist Church at 1401 Jones Dairy Road in Jasper will hold its 3rd Anniversary Celebration Worship and Lunch on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Robert Mount, a former pastor at the church.

Macedonia Baptist Church on Macedonia Loop Road in Jasper will have a 5th Sunday Night Singing Sunday, Jan. 29, starting at 5 p.m. Guest singer will be Shannon Knight from Guin. A love offering will be taken.

Kelly Mill Church will host a gospel singing Sunday, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m. Guest singers will be Latter Rain.

New Hope Baptist Church on Fall City Road will have its 5th Sunday Singing Sunday, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 23, through Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. each night. Guest singers will be Grace Infinity.

Highway 5 Church of God on Alabama Highway 5 North in Jasper will have its 5th Sunday Singing Sunday, Jan. 29, at 5:30 p.m. Guest singers will be Purpose.

Bethel Baptist Church will host a “Night to Shine” prom event, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. TUESDAY, FEB. 14

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 801 The Trace in Jasper will host its 40th Annual Valentine’s Luncheon Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church. Tickets are $12 and include lunch, silent auction, and access to vendors. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from a St. Mary’s member. Proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank, which serves the communities of Walker and Winston counties.
