Jasper teen dies in crash

A Jasper teen who was a student at the University of Alabama was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Thursday. James Mason Berry, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The crash occurred on Alabama 69 at the 162 mile marker, approximately eight miles north of Northport. According to Alabama State Trooper spokesman Johnathan Appling, Berry was killed when the 1999 Toyota 4Runner he was driving collided with a 2007 Peterbilt and a 2015 Freightliner. No further details were available, as state troopers continue to investigate the accident.
