Julia Marie Mays Lowery Humbers, 81, of Carbon Hill, went to heaven on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Ridgeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jasper.
The family will receive friends today, July 29, 2017, from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Carbon Hill Church of God of Prophecy in Carbon Hill.
Funeral service will be today, July 29, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Carbon Hill Church of God of Prophecy. Brother John Billy Butler will officiate.
Ms. Humbers was born in Bexar, Alabama to Arvin Anderson and Kate Howell Mays. She spent many of her adult years in Guin, where she met and married the love of her life, James Lecil Lowery, at the young age of 15. They were blessed with two daughters. Later she met and married J.D. Humbers, and together they had one son.
She was a dedicated Pentecostal Prayer Warrior. If she knew you, she prayed for you.
Ms. Humbers was preceded in death by her father, Arvin Anderson Mays; mother, Kate Howell Mays; stepmother, Ettie Mays; brothers, Taylor, Joe, Troy, Delton and Junior Mays; sisters, Minnie Mays Fredrick, Linnie Mays Miller, and Lela Mae Mays Drake; and son-in-law, Stoney Louis Pair. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Lowery Morgan (Buddy) and Sheila Lowery Pair; son, Ronald Humbers; brother, James Mays; and grandchildren, Jamie Morgan and Yancy Morgan; great-grandchildren, Marlana Morgan, Cody Morgan and Zac Morgan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
If anyone is planning to bring food for the family, please bring it to the church, as the family will be eating at the church following the service.
