The Walker County Master Gardners will be hosting their annual plant sale on Saturday, May 6.

This year’s plant sale will be held at the Walker County Farmer’s Market on Airport Road from 9 a.m. until all plants are sold.

Master Gardners take a course at the Walker County Extension Office to learn about gardening, and graduates of the program grow all of the plants for each year’s plant sale.

Master Gardner Eva Oates said more than $300 was raised during last year’s plant sale.

“We’ve raised all the plants, and we have good prices,” Oates said.

A number of plants will be sold, including house and garden plants, annuals, perennials, azaleas, shrubs, small trees, vegetable plants, hydrangeas, roses, blackberry cane and other plants. Oates said they will also sell garden decor.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit community garden projects in Walker County.
