Today marks the grand opening of Milo’s in Jasper, with doors opening for breakfast at 6 a.m.

For the first 90 days, breakfast at the Jasper location will be half price and the first 100 dine-in customers today will receive a free Milo’s hat.

Members of the Milo’s Hamburgers staff prepared early Monday afternoon for a pre-opening event held later that day for members of the public to come through and “test run” the new fast food restaurant. Around $2,000 worth of free food was given out during this soft opening.

The team did a really good job on Monday, said Liz Smith, the vice president of operations at Milo’s.

A ribbon cutting for the new location was held Tuesday, with members of the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County in attendance, as well as members of the Milo’s team.

Smith also addressed the employees and others assembled after the ribbon cutting, saying, “We’re super excited and super proud to be here” in Jasper.

Milo’s Hamburgers’ CEO Tom Dekle, who was on hand helping prepare food and ready the restaurant ahead of the customers’ arrival Monday, stressed that the Jasper location’s staff is local and added that hiring local is something Milo’s strives for at all its locations. He cited one assistant manager, Frank Pylant, who is from Dora while another, Michelle Dill, is from Jasper.

The restaurant’s hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Milo’s in Jasper is located at 3701 Highway 78 East in Jasper, in front of Scott Crump Toyota.
