The second-ranked Cordova Blue Devils wrapped up a 2-1 showing at the Steel City Invitational on Friday with a 55-46 victory over the Homewood Patriots at the Pete Hanna Center at Samford University.

No. 2 Cordova knocks off Homewood

The second-ranked Cordova Blue Devils wrapped up a 2-1 showing at the Steel City Invitational on Friday with a 55-46 victory over the Homewood Patriots at the Pete Hanna Center at Samford University.

Isaac Chatman led the Blue Devils with a double-double performance of 22 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Demetrius Kirk followed with 15 points, while Jayce Willingham scored 14 points.

Cordova’s win over Homewood was the second-consecutive tournament victory after its opening loss to eventual tournament champion Parker on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils rallied with a 69-63 win over top-ranked and three-time defending Class 1A state champion Sacred Heart on Friday.
