Jasper police are asking for help in locating a man they say is responsible  for shooting two men.

Rapheal Eldaysis Gaines of Jasper is wanted by police for the shooting near A.P. Howell Park on May 13.

Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe said four charges have been filed against Gaines — three counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a gun into an occupied building/vehicle.

“This investigation is ongoing and other charges may be pending,” Poe said.

Poe said police consider Gaines to be armed and dangerous, and he’s asking for the public’s help in locating him.

Both men who suffered gunshot wounds were taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham — one by ambulance and the other by helicopter. An update on their conditions was not available.

If you know Gaines’ whereabouts or have any information concerning the shooting, you are urged to call the Jasper Police Department at 205-221-2121. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 205-254-7777.
