Community and school events, and class and family reunions, are listed free of charge and run in chronological order by calendar date and time. Community and school events, and class and family reunions are only accepted from local civic, government, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, high school classes, and families. The deadline to place a community or school event, class or family reunion is no later than noon on Tuesday or Friday of each week. Walker County Action Agency Inc. will be hosting Community Awareness Outreach meetings during the month of October. Several non-profit and service organizations will be on hand to provide information on programs and services available to residents in Walker County. Refreshments will be served and drawings will be held for door prizes. The Community Awareness Outreach schedule will be: Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. - Sipsey Community Center; Thursday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. - Old City Hall Building in Cordova; and Thursday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. - Jasper Housing Authority Gym. Townley 3rd Annual Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. in downtown Townley.

Athletic Arts Center in Jasperwill host its annual performance of “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at Jasper High School.
