Wildcat Day set for Saturday

Posted

OAKMAN — Wildcat Day will bring the community together to celebrate the Oakman High School football team, band and cheerleaders Saturday.

While the event has been held in years past, Oakman Mayor Cory Franks said this is the first time Wildcat Day will be in downtown Oakman.

Wildcat Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and will feature a meet and greet with Oakman High School's football players, photographs with the team and interviews.

There will be a media time with players and coaches from 11 a.m. to noon, and guests are invited to enjoy music, food and other festivities.

"I'm just thrilled that we're able to do something significant for the football team, cheerleaders and band in Oakman," Oakman Mayor Cory Franks said. "It's a great way to work together to give our fans an opportunity to see our team and be able to follow them through this journey."

An autographed football will be auctioned off on Wildcat Day, with proceeds benefiting the Oakman athletics and football programs.

After the event, players, cheerleaders and band members will be served lunch at 1 p.m. at the Oakman Community Center.
