Ivon Eugene “Gene” Davis, 72, of Arley, passed away on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Father David Buchanan will officiate. Visitation will be today, Nov. 9, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Floyd Davis; mother, Sarah Eva Gibson; brothers, Ralph Davis and John Travis Davis; and sister, Lorene Zalipski.

He is survived by his wife, Dale Davis of Arley; daughters, Laura Martin of Las Vegas, Nev., Sheri Eakley of Hiram, Ga., Karen Walters of Hanaham, S.C., and Beth Allen of Rockmart, Ga.; sons, Michael Davis of Arley, Sammy Davis of Double Springs, Dean Pietrzak of Lockport, Ill.,Darrin Pietrzak of Bloomington, Ill., Stan Pietrzak of Curry and John Pietrzak; sister, Mildred Vaughn of Arley; brothers, C.L. “Dave” Davis of Arley, Rayford Davis of Gardendale and Thayron Davis of Grayson; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jake Knight, John Pietrzak, Stan Pietrzak, David Tucker, Thayron Davis and Allen Eakley.
