He was preceded in death by his mother, Ive Nea Guthrie; father, Gene Howton; grandmother, Icie Meadows; brother, Dennis Howton; aunt, Ted Currington; stepfather, Willis Guthrie; and cousin, Jimmy Meadows.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Dale Howton Jr. and Dennis Eric Howton; sister, Ann Woods; brother, Johnny Guthrie; and two grandchildren.
