James A. “Pete” Watkins, 73, of Sipsey, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at noon in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Sipsey. The Rev. Wayne Williams will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Jane Thomas Watkins; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Butch Lawson; grandchildren, Jenny and Timothy Lawson; special granddaughters, Latisha Allred and Layla Watkins; sisters, Sarah Crawford and husband, Tony, and Gladys Messick; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
