The fourth-ranked Bulldogs led throughout and improved to 14-0 overall and 3-0 in Class 3A, Area 11 play.
“Anytime you win there, it’s big,” Carbon Hill coach Robert Epps said.
Smith, who also added six rebounds, dominated the paint for the Bulldogs.
“He played physical,” Epps said. “He took it to the basket and made layup after layup after layup.”
Carbon Hill led 15-14 after the first quarter, 39-32 at the half and 54-43 going into the final quarter.
For Carbon Hill, Landon Herron had 11 points, Tylor Owens had 11 points and five assists, Kolton Nichols had nine points and five assists and Conner Young had seven points and 14 rebounds.
The Bulldogs will play at Dora with four games starting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Carbon Hill 51, Hamilton 47
The Carbon Hill Lady Bulldogs held off Hamilton for a 51-47 road win on Tuesday behind Lindsey Fluker’s 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Carbon Hill (11-4, 2-1) trailed 25-22 at the half, but outscored Hamilton 18-13 in the third quarter for a 40-38 lead.
“We played harder tonight than we have all year, especially in the fourth quarter” Carbon Hill coach Wade Tittle said.
Meagan Bice had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs, Caroline Dodd had 10 points, Ashley Tubbs had six points and eight rebounds and both Nikki Alexander and Malorie Busbee had two points.
