Oma Odell Pennington King, 89, of Sumiton, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at her residence. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Collins Burke Chapel. Burial will follow at Ashbank Cemetery. Lee Taylor will officiate and Collins Burke Funeral home will direct. Visitation will be today, Jan. 26, 2011, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Collins Burke Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Corbett Pennington; mother, Beulah Evans Pennington; husband, William Howard King; three sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Saundra Ann Germain (James) of Southgate, Mich., and Sally Gail Miracle (Ron) of Sumiton; sons, Wayne M. King (Peggy) of Sumiton, Glenn E. King (Mary) of Dora and Paul Jeffery King (Peggy) of Wyandotte, Mich.; sister, Nelta Jean Frier of Nobleton, Fla.; brothers, Morris Pennington of Sumiton, Lester Pennington of Nauvoo, J.T. Pennington of Macon, Ga., and Kenneth Pennington of Sumiton; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
