A children's Valentine's Day dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 11 from 6 until 11 p.m. at the Carbon Hill Community Center at 229 Second St. S.W.

The dance will feature karaoke singing and music played by Assistant Police Chief Ron "Officer Showbiz" Colburn. Door prizes donated by area businesses will be given out and the Carbon Hill Hillfest Committee will be on hand to provide refreshments.

There is no charge for admission to the event.

"The dance will be an excellent opportunity for the children of our community to get together and enjoy themselves in a positive and supervised environment," Colburn said. "It's going to be a very fun night and we hope many of our children come out to participate."

Anyone interested in becoming a chaperone or needing more information on the dance can contact Colburn through the Carbon Hill Police Department at 924-9961.
