Raymond Lee, 90, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Visitation was on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor and will be today, March 2, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Carbon Hill First United Methodist Church prior to services. Funeral services will be today, March 2, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Carbon Hill First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at McDade Cemetery in Carbon Hill. Celia Cox and Charles Tittle will officiate.

Mr. Lee was an active member of Carbon Hill First United Methodist Church. He was a member of UMWA Local 1288 for 62 plus years and served for years as an officer. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was an electrician by trade in both the mines and private business.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Barbara Tune Lee; parents, Sam and Bashie Lee; brothers, Joe Lee, Bob Lee, Felix Lee and Luther Lee; sisters, Alma Dobbins, Mattie Clark, Ruby Tittle and Ida Smothers.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Earl Lee (Sally) of Birmingham; grandsons, Jeffree Lee of Carbon Hill and Barry Lee of Ellijay, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Tune, Billy Frank Tune, Don Laird, Gene McDaniel, Paul Roy Lee and Eugene Sadberry.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the UMWA Local 1288.
