Due to rainouts this week, the round-robin event concludes on Saturday with no definitive winner.
Cordova improved to 3-0 in the event with a 7-1 win over Carbon Hill at Cordova High School on Thursday.
Pitchers Andrew Minor and Nicky Wilson combined on a six-hitter in the victory.
Minor got the win, allowing six hits, four walks and no earned runs while striking out three in six innings. Wilson pitched a perfect seventh inning.
Carbon Hill scored a run in the first inning, but was held scoreless the rest of the way. Cordova (5-3) pushed across two runs in the first inning and scored single runs in the second, fourth and fifth before putting three runs on the scoreboard in the sixth for the final tally.
Bradley Norris led the Blue Devils at the plate, going 2-for-4 while Chris Kilpatrick was 2-for-2.
Weston Bonner paced Carbon Hill (7-4), going 2-for-3 at the plate. Tylor Owens took the loss on the mound for the Bulldogs.
Two other games scheduled for Thursday (Dora vs. Parrish and Oakman vs. Curry) weren’t played due to wet fields.
Nine games involving county teams are to be played at Cordova High School over the next two days to make up for rainouts last Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Games begin at 9:30 a.m. with Curry facing Cordova. Other games are: Curry vs. Parrish at noon, Oakman vs. Parrish at 2:30 p.m., Oakman vs. Carbon HIll at 5 p.m. and Carbon Hill vs. Dora at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s games are: Dora vs. Cordova at 10 a.m., Parrish vs. Dora at 12:30 p.m., Curry vs. Oakman, 3 p.m. and Cordova vs. Carbon Hill at 5:30 p.m.
