Deavers - Rorie

Mr. And Mrs. Dwayne Deavers of Nauvoo are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia Lynn Deavers, to Michael Kayum Rorie, son of Roger and Juanita Rorie of Moultrie, Ga.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Billie Deavers and the late Wilburn Deavers of Nauvoo, and Marylin and Junior Humphries of Thach. She graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 2001 and earned an associates degree in journalism from Bevill State Community College in 2008. She is currently working at Walker County Finance in Jasper.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late C. S. "Tex" Rorie and the late Manuel Loraine Rorie of Arcadia, Fl, and the late Samuel Joel Norman and the late Katie Mae Mash of Arcadia, Fl. Michael currently works for Premier Heating/Air in Tuscaloosa.

The wedding will take place at 2pm on March 26,2011 at Lupton First Baptist Church on Prospect Rd in the Nauvoo area. There will be a reception to follow. Formal invitations have been sent.

The couple will reside in the Nauvoo area following a honeymoon in Mississippi.

Abbott - Goins

Mikel and Dawn Abbott of Jasper are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Danielle Nicole Abbott, to Daniel Jeffrey Goins son of Darrell and Terri Goins of Leighton, Alabama.

The prospective bride is the granddaughter of Martha Holbrook and the late James Ronald Holbrook of Jasper, and Reba Abbott and the late Thomas Abbott of Jasper, and the late Helen Abbott of West Palm Beach, Florida.

She is a 2006 graduate of Sumiton Christian High School and is currently attending Athens State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is a realtor with All Four Real Estate in Jasper.

The prospective groom is the grandson of James and Betty Goins of Muscle Shoals, Alabama and Bobbie Huddleston and the late Grafton Huddleston of Booneville, Mississippi.

He is a 2001 graduate of Muscle Shoals High School and a 2006 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy and Soils. He is employed in Jasper by the U.S.D.A. Natural Resource Conservation Services as the District Conservationist.

The wedding will take place at Aldridge Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday, May 8,2011. Formal invitations will be sent.

Prescott - Bell

Sarah Denise Prescott and Roger Eric Grace, both of Jasper, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Brooke Prescott, to Matthew Glenn Bell, the son of Malinda Sue Odom - Bell and Albert Glenn Bell of Double Springs.

The outdoor wedding will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Rock Garden on Elliott Boulevard. The officiating minister will be Leroy Anthony. The bride will be given in marriage by Denise Prescott and Roger Grace.

The bride’s attendants and the best man and groomsmen will be close friends and family of the couple.
