Since making her major label debut at age 16, the Australian-born musician has won a Grammy and sold millions of contemporary Christian albums.
Her ninth worship album is set to be released April 5.
St. James has also authored eight books with a ninth due out this fall and has become an advocate of children's causes.
Through her concerts and involvement with Compassion International, she has helped find sponsorships for more than 30,000 children around the world.
Her new crusade is supporting pregnancy centers. She became involved in this ministry after starring in "Sarah's Choice," a pro-life movie, in 2009.
St. James will be in Jasper on Thursday for the local Pregnancy Test and Resource Center's Celebrating the Gift of Life Fundraising Gala.
"These are the real heroes of our time. Every day, 3,300 women wake up believing there is no hope, and they tragically end their pregnancies. But there is hope through the compassionate network of pregnancy centers who are every day empowering women to choose life through their expression of practical support and love," St. James said in a press release.
The gala is the PTRC's largest fundraiser of the year, and the proceeds are used to help pay for the Center's operational expenses.
Educational programs for expectant parents, a self-esteem and purity conference for teenage girls and a Bible study for women who have had abortions are a few of the free services offered at PTRC.
