McCain was preceded in death by his father, Herb Grove; brother, Ray McCain; sister-in-law, Dixie McCain; mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Victor Moore; brothers-in-law, Victor “Tug” Moore Jr. and Robert Hubbard.
He is survived by his wife, Vickey McCain of Quinton; mother, Grace Grove of Westmoreland, Tenn.; children, Lynn Hubbard Higgins (Bruce) of Quinton, Angie Smith McCain (Shawn) of Jasper, Victoria Shirley (Freddie) of Tuscaloosa, Christy Duncan (Roger) of Quinton, David Leon McCain (Hope) of Amarillo, Texas, Tammy Keliiwaiwaiole (Kealoha) of Washington and LeeAnn Hamilton (Darrell) of Washington; sisters, Linda Morrison (Ed) of Westmoreland and Faye McCain of Huntsville; grandchildren, Colby, Vicki, Elijah, John, Jared, Jason, Olivia “Tula,” Desmond, Doris “Tink,” Aerial, Cory, Xavier, Desirae, John Stephen, Shelby, Dawn, Lilly Grace, Joshua David, Kassidy, Eli, Scott, Andy, Brandi and Jennifer; mother-in-law, R.T.
