Justin Taylor, 21, pleaded guilty to 10 robberies that occurred between Dec. 28 and Jan. 14 across different parts of Walker County. Walker County District Attorney Bill Adair said Taylor was the gunman in each of the holdups.
“He’ll be in prison for some time before he has a chance at parole,” Adair said. “These were violent crimes, and we were lucky that no one was hurt in any of these robberies.”
Adair said Taylor’s guilty plea is the first of three in connection with the rash of armed robberies. He said two other suspects, Adam Stimpson and Paul Matthew Tingle, are expected to enter guilty pleas within the next 10 days. Adair added there is a fourth suspect still be sought by police but did not release that person’s name.
The arrests made in these cases were a result of a task force set up between the Walker County District Attorney’s Office, Walker County Sheriff’s Office and the Jasper Police Department, Adair said.
“The fact these arrests were made so quickly and the speedy nature of this guilty plea speaks volumes for the cooperation between all three agencies,” he said. “This shows us what we can do when we pull all our resources together.”
