Thomas William Guthrie, 85, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Bro. Ken Norris will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, July 10, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Huey Guthrie Sr.; mother, Clesta Kilgore Guthrie; step-mother, Nina Kelly Guthrie; and sisters, Louise Earnest and Ruby Westbrook.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Tune Guthrie of Carbon Hill; son, Donald Ray Guthrie (Pat) of Carbon Hill; daughter, Teresa Guthrie Sanders of Carbon Hill; grandchildren, Holly Guthrie Morgan (Shane) and Hannah Sanders; great-grandchild, Maxwell Reid Morgan; and brothers, Huey Guthrie Jr. (Hazel) of Eldridge and Boyd Guthrie (Josephine) of Jasper.
