Jacqueline Davidson Pierce, 87, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Pierce was a resident of Oakman but upon retirement moved to Jasper. She was a life long educator having taught for the Walker County School System and as a consultant for the Alabama Department of Education. She was a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Jasper and First Baptist Church of Oakman.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Day Cemetery. John Jay and Bill Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home prior to services.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Pierce; mother, Mable Davidson Cooper; and daughter, Susan Gaines Pierce.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Wiederecht and her husband, John, of Jasper, Lynn “Pinkie” Watts and her husband, Frank, of Jasper and Isobel McCart and her husband, John, of Oakman; grandchildren, Jamie Forstman, Marian Hagood, David Flanary, Sam Watts and Pierce Wiederecht; one great-grandchild, James Stephen Forstman; and a host of cousins.
