Under Parrish’s Vacation House and Business Watch Program, citizens who are going out of town and wish to have their home or business patrolled by the police department while they are absent will receive extra protection.
Some of the information that police will need in order to carry out the request order includes when the resident or business owner will not be on the property, when they will return, if lights will be on at the location, if an alarm is present and if anyone will be entering or working around the property while the owners are gone.
Request forms for those who wish to utilize the new program can be obtained at Parrish Town Hall. Each watch request can be carried out for a maximum of a two-week period.
The Parrish Neighborhood Watch Program will hold its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at town hall.
“We’re currently in the process of having T-shirts designed and produced for everyone that’s involved in the neighborhood watch program,” Smith said. “We’d like to see more participation from all of our community members in order to help make our town safer.”
