Joyce Cox of Jasper, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at the age of 78. She worked at Walker County and Colonial Bank for more than 30 years. She was a member of Edgil Grove Baptist Church. She graduated from Walker High School in 1951.

The family received friends on Saturday Oct. 8, 2011 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be today, Oct. 9, 2011 at 2 p.m at Edgil Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Hancel Cox and David Miller will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

Cox is survived by her husband, Oscar Cox Jr. of Jasper; daughter, Lynne Curtis (Donald) of Dora; sons, Mark Cox (Barbara) of Jasper and Hancel Cox (Cindy) of Jasper; grandchildren, Joey Cox (Delana), Tracie Cox, Ben Cox (Heather), Brady Cox (Julie), Stephen Curtis. Bethany Curtis, Philip Curtis and Peter Curtis; great-grandchildren, Blakeney Cox, Chloe Cox, Josie Cox, Walker Cox, Kadence Cox, Cooper Cox, Cody Lee Cox, Gabe Cox, Layne Cox, Trey Curtis, Hunter Curtis and Zoey Curtis.
