Dora takes five-game winning streak to Midfield

DORA — The Dora Bulldogs travel to Midfield this week. Dora will take on the Patriots in a Class 4A, Region 5 clash.

The 10th-ranked Bulldogs are 6-1 overall and 4-1 in region play after pounding Oak Grove 49-6 last week for their fifth straight win.

Midfield (4-3, 4-1) has dropped two of its last three after losing 12-8 last week at Haleyville.

Dora is 13-17-1 all time against Midfield and has lost four straight against the Patriots after falling 26-7 last season.

The Bulldogs average 42 points per game this year while allowing just 11.4.

The Patriots score 25 points a game but give up only 11.6.

Dora’s offense is led by senior running back Cody Staten, who is leading the area with 1,041 yards rushing on 95 carries (11 yards a run) with 17 touchdowns on the ground.

The Bulldogs have two players on defense with three interceptions each in Cade Stone and Kai Thomas.



Cullman at Curry

The Curry Yellow Jackets host the Cullman Bearcats in a 5A, Region 6 matchup.

Curry (4-3, 3-2) has lost three straight games after opening 4-0 and fell 55-7 at 2nd-ranked Hartselle last week.

Cullman (6-1, 5-0) has won back-to-back games after beating Mortimer Jordan 46-27 last week.

The Bearcats have beaten Curry nine straight times and are 14-1 all time against the Yellow Jackets after last year’s 51-20 victory.



No. 2 Hamilton at Cordova

The Cordova Blue Devils host the undefeated Hamilton Aggies in a 3A, Region 5 showdown.

Cordova (5-2, 4-1) has won five of its last six after beating Carbon Hill 39-12 last week.

Hamilton (7-0, 5-0) has allowed just 73 points all year (10.4 a game) and is coming off a 51-7 win over Vinemont.

The 2nd-ranked Aggies are 5-0 all time against Cordova and won last year’s game 47-43.



Carbon Hill at No. 8 Hanceville

The Carbon Hill Bulldogs travel to undefeated Hanceville for a 3A, Region 5 meeting.

Carbon Hill (1-6, 1-4) has lost four straight after falling 39-12 last week against Cordova.

Hanceville (7-0, 5-0) averages 44.1 points per game while giving up only 8.7

Hanceville is 5-0 all time against Carbon Hill and won last year’s game 44-20.



South Lamar at Parrish

The Parrish Tornadoes host the winless South Lamar Stallions in a 1A, Region 5 battle.

Parrish (2-5, 1-4) has dropped five straight games after last week’s 36-35 loss at Hubbertville.

South Lamar (0-7, 0-5) fell 14-7 to top-ranked Lynn last week. The Stallions are 5-2 all time against Parrish and won last year’s game 46-26.



Hubbertville at Meek

The Meek Tigers host the Hubbertville Lions in a 1A, Region 5 game.

Meek (1-6, 0-5) has dropped six straight games this year and is coming off a 56-8 loss at Marion County.

Hubbertville (5-2, 3-2) has won two of its last three after edging Parrish 36-35 last week. The Tigers have lost back-to-back games against Hubbertville and four of the last five after falling 28-21 last season.

The Lions are 19-11 all time against Meek.
