Loyd Latham, 88, of Jasper passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will be at the Walker Memory Gardens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie. He is survived by his son, Danny Latham (Sheiya) and granddaughter, Amy Latham.

He was a longtime faithful member of the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ. He served in the Air Force during WWII and was employed at Son’s Supermarket on 9th Avenue as produce manager until he retired. For the last five years, he has made The Terrace his home, where he made many new friends.

Loyd was a kind gentle man, full of wisdom and common sense, who was a friend to many and loved by all who knew him.

The family requests memorials be made to the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ for the Childhaven Children’s Home.
