Bernice Williams Gay, 85, of Nauvoo, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at her residence. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery. Don Graham will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Knolton Oscar Gay; father, Willis Williams; mother, Floy Wilson Williams Davis; brother, Travis Williams; son, Joseph Lenwell Black; grandsons, Steven Edward Thomas, Burton Lee Tingle and Lawrence Eugene Tingle; and granddaughter, Kristy Diane Nolen.

She is survived by her daughters, Tommie Sue Black of Jasper, Brenda Kay Bentley of Bremen, Glenda Fay Thomas of Jasper, Linda Lou Tingle (E.B.) of Nauvoo, Debra June Nolan (Jimmy) of Oakman, Sharon Denise Warren (Tim) of Fort Payne and Charlotte Jeanette Aaron (Ronny) of Jasper; son, Dwight Glenn Black (Carolyn) of Minnesota; brother, Jr. Willis Williams; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Charlie Borgess.

Pallbearers will be Tim Aldridge, Ricky Aldridge, Robert Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Chris Thomas, Johnny Bentley, Jeremy Tingle, Jason Tingle, Jacob Aaron, Kenny Black, Ronnie Black, Mitch Naramore and Matt Boyd.
