He was preceded in death by his father, William Marcus Blackwell; mother, Arie Wilson Blackwell; wife, Doris Ann Hubbert Blackwell; daughter, Sue Ellen Williams; sisters, Lydia Blackwell Sparks and Betty Blackwell; and brothers, Ralph Blackwell and Andy Blackwell.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Blackwell of Tuscaloosa; son, Barry S. Blackwell of Wetumpka; sister, Barbara Denton of Natural Bridge; and four grandchildren.
