George W. Beersdorf Sr. 72, of the Dilworth community, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 24 at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home with burial in Walker Memory Gardens. Sonny Bennett, Justin Smith and Bill Beersdorf will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, January 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Eunice Beersdorf; and brother, Jerry Beersdorf.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Beersdorf of the Dilworth community; children, George Beersdorf Jr. (Tina) of Birmingham, Terry Watson of Cordova, Paul Beersdorf (Debbie) of Atlanta, Ga., Cyndi Handley (Gary) of Sipsey, Heather Holcomb (Adam) of Northport, Janet Johnston (Lynn) of Morris, and Bill Beersdorf (Robin) of Dothan; grandchildren, Shea Watson, Lindsay Handley, Teddy Johnston, Michael Johnston, Katie Handley, Hannah Beersdorf, David Beersdorf, Sarah Grace Beersdorf, Johnathan Beersdorf, Isaac Johnston, Nikki Bonney, Tyler Beersdorf, and Tristan Beersdorf; great-grandchild, Cade Holcomb; sister, Wanda Beersdorf of Pascagoula, Miss.; brother, Charles Beersdorf (Mary) of Jasper; special pet, Angel and a host of relatives and friends.
