Marcelle (Christian) Earnest, 88, who was born on June 30,1923, in Oakman, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012. She passed away peacefully at her home. She was a member of the Oakman Church of Christ, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a retired seamstress from Berry Manfacturing Co.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Annie and Virgil Christian; her husband, Cecil Tracy Earnest; brothers, Robert Christian and Bill Jack Christian; sisters, Norma Jean Christian and Tommie Christian; and grandson, John Eric Sides.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis DePriest of Northport, Winona Sides (John Sides Jr.) and Shelia Schultz of Oakman; grand and great-grandchildren, Anita Price of Tuscaloosa, Sherri Sides (fiance’ Nelson Vance) of Jasper, Cory Schultz of Oakman, Lauren Bigham, Carli Bigham of Tuscaloosa, and Samantha Schultz of Jasper.

Visitation will be from noon until 1p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home prior to services. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb.15,2012, at 1 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gibson Hill Cemetery.
