According to a release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Edmund Reed of Birmingham died from a gunshot wound in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 1000 block of Forestdale Blvd. shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday. The reason for the shooting was not available at press time.
Officials could not confirm reports that the car Murray was driving was recovered at his home on Hicks Road.
Although Murray has a Dora address, the residence is not in Dora’s city limits or in Walker County, but local police departments are on the lookout for him if he returns to the area.
“We’re looking for him,” Dora Police Chief John Duchock said Monday.
Anyone with information about Murray or his whereabouts is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-5900.
