Students and sponsors of the Walker County Center of Technology’s robotics team put the finishing touches on their robot for this year’s international FIRST Robotics competition.

The robot must be completed and ready to ship out on Tuesday.

The team has been working for about six weeks to create a robot for competition in this year’s “Rebound Rumble.” This will be the fourth year the WCCT has competed in the competition, which features a new challenge, theme and rules each year.

The challenge always includes building a robot for a specific function out of a box of assigned parts, but also uses elements of teamwork, leadership and cooperation during the building and competition phases.

The team will travel to Georgia for the three-day competition in mid March.
